I had to change the battery all together as it had died. I bought a new battery on E-Bay from a reputable dealer and installed it in the controller,it was the correct battery for this controller. I then noticed when I plugged the controller in to the console the battery was not charging at all. I have another new Dual Shock Controller which works perfectly well so it is not the leads from the controller. The first controller is wireless and with the wire attached it will operate the console and all it's functions, but when you remove the wire it will not work. I have never dropped the controller or treated it roughly. There are no red flashing lights on the console to tell me its recharging.
