It is not forward thinking as it lacks gigabit ethernet :|

Hopefully this or other fully-HD models do not suffer the plague of not being able to mount multiple (auth) CIFS/SMB shares simultaneously. With appropriate CIFS support internal HDDs become a novelty. I shall prefer mine to not-include HDDs. I already acquire- and store my media elsewhere.

Hopefully firmware source code availability will lead to built-in support to browse NZB-sites and download NZB to designated CIFS share blackhole (for other box to process).

torrent? no thanks

DLNA is lowest common denominator.. hopefully its upnp has more potential.

…

Having a test unit available at brick-n-mortar stores will allay worries of media compatibility. $400 for the “privilege” of beta testing *claimed* format/container compatibility with MY media is not the least bit desirable.

When can we expect that?

Please learn the distinction between format and container

Hi, I received my Mvix Ultio last week then try to play DTS HD-MA pass-through my receiver, did not recognize it. The only show just regular DTS then the movie I am trying to play had 7 channels, Ultio show only 5 channels. I really like it, the main thing I bought this unit is can pass-through the latest audio sound from Blu-ray and the wireless is not working. Help.
Thanks
Bruce

I used to burn movies I downloaded from my PC to DVD for me to play them on my player. I spent too much for these expensive DVDs and really pissed me off to wait for the long time burning process. It's so great I decided to purchase my Mvix Ultio, now all I need to do is to transfer and save my media files from PC to its internal HDD and I can enjoy them with my Plasma any time I want.

My sister came to visit me yesterday and she wanted to have a copy of the movies, so we transfer them to her USB and no need to burn to DVD.

I agree. This product is really awesome. I have used different kinds of HD in the market but only Mvix Ultio 1080p satisfies me. With its high-end functionality at the price of $300, I assure you that it is a great choice of brand. You can play different kinds of file formats not having to worry about the conversion, and a slave port that allows you to connect directly to your computer.. Also, this Mvix Ultio 1080p has internet access for added convenience in watching streaming videos. This is an easy set up product.

I love this Mvix Ultio, and I recommend it to all.

I just received my Ultio package, I was surprised at the assortment of cables that they gave me. Honestly, I don’t think I have ever purchased a device that came with the HDMI cable. Other manufacturers will charge me extra for the HDMI cable. From start to assembly, it only took me exactly 5 minutes to get this thing up and running, including configuration of the network!

While playing with it, I wondered if the Mvix Ultio would stream the DTS to my yamaha because DTS is not on the supported audio list. It DID work! Awesome product!
