Twelve months ago HTC shook up the Windows Mobile world with the launch of the Touch HD, a smartphone that offered a vast touchscreen, lashings of connectivity and the latest version of their UI tweaking, TouchFLO 3D, to produce what was hitherto thought impossible: an alluring Windows Phone. Now, the company have attempted just such a revolution with Windows Mobile 6.5 in the shape of the HTC HD2. They’ve upped their game with a speedy Snapdragon processor, even vaster display and a fresh UI that’s been educated by their recent work on Android. Can the HTC HD2 again do the unthinkable, and give us a reason to love Windows Mobile?

We're big fans of Sleek Audio here at SlashGear, and with the launch of the SA1 earphones the company's range is even more accessible than before. To celebrate the new SA1's Sleek Audio have given us two sets to give away to SlashGear readers, and they've also thrown in a grand prize of an SA6 W-1 wireless bundle - comprising a pair of SA6 earphones and the lossless Kleer Audio wireless system - too.

The SA1 earphones are all about making high-quality audio more personal, with their VQ tuning system that allows you to tweak the treble performance according to your individual tastes, so we're keen to find out what helped your music get personal. To stand a chance of winning a set of SA1 earphones, or the SA6 W-1 bundle, let us know about your first portable music system in this forum thread. Maybe you were an early iPod adopter, or perhaps you rocked an old Sony Walkman and still long wistfully for the old days of cassette tapes.

Entries will be accepted until midnight EST on December 3rd, and we'll be picking three comments at random: one to win the SA6 W-1 bundle and two to take away a set of SA1 earphones each. You'll need to register for a free SlashGear forum account; make sure to use a real email address, as we'll be contacting the winners via that email! Full competition rules are below; good luck!

Rules

Competition is open to residents of the US over the age of 18. Family members of Sleek Audio and SlashGear are not permitted to enter. Competition entries are only accepted via the specified SlashGear forum thread; entries left in the comments section of this or any other post will not be recognized. Entries should be submitted before midnight eastern time on December 3rd 2009; one entry per person (and yes, we check).

The winners will be announced on SlashGear and contacted via email; they will be expected to respond within 24 hours else their prize may be forfeit and another winner selected. Editors decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winner agrees that their name and details of their entry may be used for promotional purposes by, but not limited to, SlashGear.

Prize consists of one SA6 W-1 Wireless Bundle and two sets of SA1 earphones to be shared between three winners. There is no cash alternative. Should this prize become unavailable, SlashGear and Sleek Audio reserve the right to substitute another prize of equal or greater value.

As Motorola have found over the past couple of years, it’s taking an increasing amount to get geeks and gadget lovers to stand up and pay attention to a new cellphone. Right now, one sure-fire way of doing that is by launching an Android device, and so that’s what the ailing mobile giant has done in the shape of the Motorola CLIQ (aka the DEXT outside of the US). Not only does the CLIQ promise to make a splash among Android handsets, it also marks the debut of Motorola’s attempt to corral social networking into a mobile device. In our review we’ll not only be looking at the CLIQ hardware, as Motorola’s first-generation Android smartphone, but at MOTOBLUR and its potential beyond the CLIQ. Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

Nokia’s first PC (as opposed to the phones they refer to as multimedia computers) got a lot of hype when it was announced and is getting a lot of mixed reviews from folks who complain mostly about price/performance and that you can get better specs in a netbook for less money. After spending some time with a Booklet 3G, I’m once again reminded that there’s more to a purchase than speeds and feeds, and that value, much like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. So I’m not going to discuss the relatively slow processor or hard drive. We can agree that the Booklet isn’t a speed demon. It is, however, how a good PC experience should be and that’s worth paying for in my opinion.

Yamaha have been quietly plugging away at their soundbar technology for a while now, and their latest model looks to be the most alluring yet. As ever, the concept is straightforward: why have a room stuffed full of speakers when a single row of them – together with some clever digital processing – can reproduce the same effect. Targeted at TVs up to 50-inches (as well as projector setups), the Yamaha YSP-5100 packs 120W and five HDMI ports.

Projectors are usually crammed with lamps that are more like the light bulbs in your average light than the LEDs that power some devices. The big upside to LEDs is that they take less power and often offer better contrast as well. Planar has announced a pair of new, very expensive, projectors that give up traditional lamps in favor of LED light sources.

Way back in the day I had a set of JBL Creature II speakers. The things always reminded me of the ghosts from the Pac Man cartoon my brother and I watched as kids.
