BeamBox’s Evolution R1 pico-projector wasn’t exactly a giant, but the company obviously decided they could do better with their next-gen model. The BeamBox Essential G2, then, drops both bulk and weight to come in at 75g, together with 20 lumens brightness and VGA 640 x 480 resolution.

My AAXA P1 pico projector has better features and is a bit cheaper… but the main thing that confuses me is how you’re supposed to access the 1GB of onboard memory? Does it have an onboard video/music decoder? If so, where are the buttons to control it? WTF?

The 1GB of memory is intended to be used in the same way you’d use a USB thumb-drive, so you could feasibly load all of your presentation files onto the G2 and then plug it into a PC/Mac wherever you were giving your demo. It’s not intended to be a standalone projector like the P1 or BeamBox’s other picos.
