   We’ve seen it teased and we’ve seen the first photos, but today Dell is finally giving us the skinny (pun intended) on the thinnest notebook ever – the Dell Adamo XPS. The 9.99 mm thin notebook, which will be shipping in time for the holidays, will inevitably be compared to Apple’s Macbook Air and no doubt it is thinner, but the starting $1,800 price tag won’t make it cheaper.

   This is a very nice review of what appears to be a super machine. I am an Apple user and have not had much interest in the MacBook Air. It would be useful for a “road warrior”, but I am pretty stationary. This Dell has some great promise and for the Windows users however. Seeing that I am a happy with my platform, I will applaud Dell for pushing the envelope. Innovation arises from competition. Now let Mr. Jobs and Co. take this challenge and run with it. Oh, and one more thing….say hello to MacBook Helium. It actually floats!

   I’m just not sure about swiping the finger across the capacitive strip to open. A lot can go wrong – I mean what if it mal-functions, you’d have to pry Adamo open? It also reminds me of a cross between a laptop and an all-in-on machine with the design.
